The featured speaker this month is Brittany Taussig of RISE Behavioral Consulting. We will be discussing understanding emotions and how to teach children about them.

Ms. Taussig is a pediatric behavior specialist, who loves working with children and families as they address significant social, emotional and behavior concerns. She seeks to help parents or caregivers understand that their child's behavior is trying to communicate something, and together we figure out what the unmet need is and how to provide support and meet the child's needs in alternative ways. She also partners with the child to help them learn how to communicate their wants and needs in safe and appropriate ways by teaching them alternative replacement behaviors instead!

Ms. Taussig specialize in emotional regulation and focuses a good portion of her work on teaching parents how to come alongside and validate their child's emotions and co-regulate with them; without reinforcing some of the challenging behaviors that often go along with those emotions. Parent training and parent coaching are two of her favorite services to provide, however recently she has loved teaching a weekly parent classes and her emotion exploration class for toddlers and preschoolers! Ms. Taussig loves coming alongside parents to help them “Bring the JOY back into parenting.”
