President and CEO
Ms. Felicia Ford is the President and CEO of the Freddie Ford Family and also serves as a member of the Board of Directors. She is the daughter of Freddie Ford. Ms. Ford has been married to her husband, John Bailey, since 2005 and they have 3 boys who are all on the autism spectrum. She is uniquely qualified to lead an organization that aims to assist families impacted by autism. She recognizes the emotional support that is necessary for parents to manage the stress of having special needs children as well as the reality of how expensive therapies can be. Ms. Ford is extremely passionate about ensuring African American families are able to receive early intervention and diagnosis.
Ms. Ford has a general practice law firm, Felicia J. Ford, P.C., in St. Louis, Missouri. She assists clients in the areas of business consulting, estate planning, criminal law, personal injury, family law, traffic tickets, and workers’ compensation. As a small business owner, she has sole responsibility for the development of her law practice. Ms. Ford has been a member in good standing of the Missouri Bar Association since 2004.
Ms. Ford currently works for the Law Offices of Pari Sheth as Of Counsel. Ms. Ford worked as an Associate Attorney for Simon and Hudson, P.C. from November 2008 to October 2010. She was responsible for representing employers/insurance companies in the defense of Workers’ Compensation claims against injured workers. She worked at Kortenhof and Ely, P.C. from July 2007 to October 2008 as an associate attorney. Her responsibilities were to defend employers/insurance companies in Workers’ Compensation claims. Ms. Ford also worked for St. Louis City as an attorney in the Drug Court. She advocated for mothers during roundtable discussions regarding progress in the program. She also held hearings regarding the permanency placement of children while the mothers were in the program.
Ms. Ford is a member of Central Baptist Church where she served as Executive Director for their Community Development Corporation, Crossroads Community Connections from July 2010 to April 2012. She was responsible for fundraising, grant writing, project management of events, and development of partnerships with other organizations. She also coordinated volunteers for a Back to School Giveaway and the Relationship Skills seminar series.
Ms. Ford attended Murray State University, in Murray Kentucky on a full track scholarship as a sprinter. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She attended Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan where she earned her Juris Doctor degree. She is a native of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. As a former high school track standout, she was inducted into the Cape Girardeau Central Senior High School Hall of Fame in 2016.
In 2013 she was named as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers. Ms. Ford was a Missouri Bar Continuing Legal Education Speaker for the Workers’ Compensation Case Law Update in 2011 & 2012. She served as a Mediator for the Better Business Bureau in 2011. Ms. Ford served on the Missouri Bar Association Solo and Small Firm Conference Planning Committee from 2011 – 2013 and has been serving as a Co-Chair since 2016.
Her duties are spelled out in our bylaws, and include managing the day-to-day business of the organization, attending meetings of our board of directors and voting on board decisions.
