Setting up FAQs
The Foundation is named in honor of Freddie Ford, whose spirit of resilience, love, and community inspired our work. He is the father of the founder, Felicia Ford. Mr. Ford lived a life of service to his country as a member of the U.S. Navy, his community as a police officer in St. Louis City and later in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. We continue his legacy by building a place where families feel supported and children with autism can shine.
We offer a variety of social, recreational, and support programs for families, including:
• Camp Ausome – a summer experience for kids with autism and their families.
• Gaming Family Fun Group – teaching social skills and encouraging family bonding through a variety of board games and virtual gaming.
• Parent Support Group Meetings – gatherings with guest speakers, resources, and peer connection.
• Play Dates & Teen Outings – safe, inclusive social opportunities.
• Holiday Events – including Trunk-or-Treat, Holiday celebrations, and an Easter Egg Hunt.
• Heroes for Autism 5K & Mile – our signature annual fundraiser and autism awareness event.
• Back to School Parent Workshop – a middle school program focused on communication, self-esteem, and peer interaction.
• Trivia Night for Autism - fun night of trivia with games, raffles, silent auction and more as a community awareness event.
