As the new school year begins, we understand the unique challenges faced by parents and caregivers of children and teens with autism. We are hosting a Back to School Parent Workshop to empower Parents and caregivers of children and teens with autism to effectively support their students for a successful school year.

The Workshop will include a panel of 5 speakers Missouri Disability Empowerment, Get Centered Counseling, Blue Stars Therapy, The Dragan Law Firm, LLC as well as Midwest Easterseals. Each speaker will have a 20 minute presentation on topics as follows:
Effective Communication with Teachers and IEP Teams:
Learn how to express academic concerns in a way that gets results and ensures your child's needs are met.
Supporting Social-Emotional and Mental Health:
Discover strategies to support your child’s well-being and learn how to address bullying effectively.
Goal Setting:
Understand how to set and track goals at home for your child, helping them reach their full potential throughout the school year.
Advocating for Your Child’s IEP:
Learn what to do if the school isn’t following your child’s IEP and the importance of documenting communication for potential legal action.
Transitioning Back to School:
Get tips on easing the transition from summer break, and managing new schools, teachers, and expectations.
This workshop will provide practical advice and actionable strategies to ensure your child’s academic and emotional needs are met this school year.
